Match Report
Toss was won by KMCC and they elected to bowl. KMCC bowlers got off to a solid start on cooler conditions as Omer and Shahid attacked well against Rahul and Neeraj. Shahid soon got rid of Rahul and Ivan in the 4th over of the game with DCC on the backfoot at 13/2 after 4 overs. Then Neeraj and Raghu helped out DCC with good batting taking time to settle down while building a healthy score at the same time. By 12 overs, DCC had made its way to 59 without further loses with the 2 batsman playing responsibly. Then, Raghu's well made 24 ended when Salman broke the partnership making the batsman drive in the air. Pratik and Neeraj then built the game with another valuable partnertship. Pratik was seen more aggressive after a long time and it was good to see the Captain's confidence back although he was helped by a few chances that KMCC could not convert. Neeraj having played the anchor for the first time in life finally perished in the 19th over to a spectacular diving catch by Salman when the score was 100. Kamran got rid of Saurabh at the right time as the latter was looking good to launch an attack. It was then Omer' turn to send back Shankar just when DCC looked to go big (165/6 in 24 overs). Law of averages finally gave way to Ravi as Shahid bowled the realtor 10 runs later. KMCC had applied the brakes. Pratik was now running out of partners at the wrong time but Niranjan defied odds and provided a good balast around which both Pratik and Niranjan gased the score to 195. Salman produced a miserly 2 run over in the 30th over to limit DCC from reaching 200. Salman, Kamran and Shahid were the pick of the KMCC bowlers. Pratik stood tall with a Captain's knock of 73 NO.

After lunch break, KMCC openers Majid and Riaz started off slow and steady against Niranjan and Rahul who were right on the money. In the 3rd over, Niranjan ended Majid's trouble when he made the batsman fish to a good swinging ball. Then Niranjan picked up 1 wicket in his next 3 overs as he dismissed Riaz, Kamran and Shahid - the latter seeing the ball trickle to the stumps off his bat and pad. At 20/4 in the 7th over, things were not looking good for KMCC. Then Salman looked good for a brief moment before Murali sent him back LBW when the batsman's bat got stuck behind the leg. It was all Murali afterwards. If Muthiah is here, he may be inclined to think that Nori is his clone. The leggie troubled the batsman and got rid of Salman A with Rahul taking a neat running catch at deep midwicket. KMCC then decided to play out his over and Murali finished a quality spell with 6-0-11-2. At the other end, Ravi bowled his lightning quick overs in his usual style and provided excellent support to Murali. Ravi finished well with figures of 6-0-20-1. Pratik and Saurabh chipped in some overs to take a wicket each to dismiss Saqib and Usman. Uzair (53) was the only batsman who was looking in fine touch and played some good cricketing strokes but he was not supported by reliable partners. Still, he had rescued KMCC from 43/7 to 107 when he was the last man to get out caught very cleanly by Rao at long on. Ravi took 2 very good catches in the game. So did Rahul.

Pratik and Niranjan share the MoM for their 73 runs and 4 wickets respectively.

The match was played in best of spirits. DCC now has to wait to see who they play in the first round at Shiloh.

Umpire Report
Umpiring by GHCC umpires were very disciplined and consistent. The only side comment was that DCC observed that wides were being called very tightly in favor of the batsman both while batting and bowling. But that was consistent on both sides. Overall, a clean job done well by the pair.
