Match Report
DCC knew they had a challenging game against perennial title contenders GRCC. Having lost their previous game with a sub-par performance, DCC were keen to put up a good show in Richmond.

Things started well with the coin falling in DCC's favor who then elected to bat. Vicky A and Hari were getting the ball to swing and made scoring difficult initially. Ravi got run out in a mix up, but Ashu and Pratik stabilized things with a 31 run partnership. Sanjeewa walked in to join the skipper and they put together a 116 runs at a run a ball. This set things up for a big finish and Mahesh obliged with a big 6 and 4 in the last few overs. DCC ended up on 203 with Pratik scoring exactly 100.

GRCC started the chase strong with runs flowing quickly as Nataraj had toruble controlling the swing. Rohit was brought in to bowl and the change paid dividends right away as he bowled Sameer. A great pick up and throw by Saurabh had Abhishek short of his ground and Mahesh joined the party with a great outswinger to pick up Rajeev. Another run out following a mixup and Ajay getting bowled meant that GRCC were 5 down quickly. However Vicky A supported by Laxmi, Surendra and Hari kept fighting. It came down to GRCC needing 52 runs of 48 balls but a couple of fantastic overs by Mahesh where he conceded only 4 runs made the task more difficult. A great outfield catch by Rohit got rid of the dangerous Vicky A and despite a fighting innings from Hari GRCC ended up short by 10 runs.

Thanks to GRCC for a hard fought game played in good spirit. Thanks to them for allowing a substitute when Rohit dislocated his shoulder in the process of taking a catch. Their sporting gesture is much appreciated.
