Match Report
Synopsys: DCC had a rocket start only to see the rocket disintegrate by good GCT bowling to finish at a paltry score of 120. GCT, however, had their top order wiped clean by fantastic bowling from DCC with only 1 GCT batsman, Sandeep, showing resistance. Eventually DCC cleans up the tail to win by 34 runs.

Detatiled report: GCT won the toss and chose to bowl. Neeraj and Raj faced the music of Biv and Ajay. Rightaway, Neeraj gave a tame catch in the first over of Biv's bowling. Ivan had to step in rightaway. Raj and Ivan played sensibly early on. Then GCT suddenly started giving fulltosses and juicy balls which Ivan and Raj sent for 6's and 4's. After that, even good balls were not spared by Ivan who, having tasted blood, went to launch a counter-attack. Biv got back on track and sent a good incutter at Raj which hit his pads. Raghu, having spent a lot of time in the sidelines, was given an opportunity to show his skills. But the greenish track was too much for Raghu as Biv stuck yet again in the 7th over to leave DCC at 42/3.

GCT bowlers were now getting back on their grove and Biv decided to use up all his overs in an effort to curb runrate. In-form bat, Mahesh played a glorious cover drive but didnt not capitalize thereafter and was brilliantly caught and bowled by Sandeep.

Shankar and Ivan then played out Minky and Sandeep grinding the bowling while going after bad balls. The pair put on a valuable partnership and reached 87/4 in 12 overs threatening to open up the game towards DCC when Ivan towered a big one of Sandeep's ball only that it went far and high in the sky that Haroon, who had time to sip a cup of coffee, judged the ball to perfection to dismiss the danger man.

Capt Pratik now joined Shankar and milked the bowling and by the mid-innings break, DCC were at 91/5. A boundary to start the 16th over from Pratik set the tone for a huge score but 2 overs later, Shankar lost concentration and was bowled by Johal for 22. The key was then Pratik but once he got out to a good catch by Gaurang, it was all GCT after that. Hari was called to stop the carnage but Rahul and Ravi were dismissed back to back with no score. When Niranjan swung oxygen after the 21st over, DCC had left about 9 overs on the table unused. Hari was stranded yet again and GCT had rocked back to restrict DCC to 120 - a score that could have been doubled had the DCC batsmen showed better temperament. Good bowling by Biv, Sandeep and Johal earned them 3,3 and 2 wickets respectively.

GCT started off the game in style scoring 8 runs of Niranjan in the first over with openers, Ramanjit and Vijay. But Mahesh produced a killer over soon making Vijay fish outside and Rahul took a nice low second slip catch moving from first slip. Niranjan then closed the door trapping centurion Ramanjit LBW. The fertile conditions made the 2 bowlers do magic. Mahesh removed Johal next when the latter could not clear mid off. Niranjan swing had Biv edge one to Rahul who gobbled his second catch of the day. When Haroon topedged Mahesh towards Ravi, GCT top order had been ripped open by the DCC bowling pair. GCT was soon in all kinds of trouble when Mahesh reflexed quickly to take a low diving catch of his own bowling to eliminate Hardik. For the second consecutive match, Mahesh goes home with a 4 wicket haul. It was 20/6 in 8 overs. Hari bowled well but could not break the new pair of Sandeep and Piyush. The former was the more dominant bat and Piyush provided support and a small partnership took GCT to 37 mostly scored by Sandeep's willow. Every run was now important and GCT were inching towards the total.

Then, Pratik got the vital breakthrough when Mahesh ran a long way to hold on to a skier at long-on. With 3 wickets left and 83 runs to score, it looked like a done deal. But DCC, with past experience, knew the game isnt over yet. GCT also realized that the match isnt over until 10 wickets fall. Another cameo partnership from Sandeep and Ajay took GCT closer to the total. GCT were at 72 with Ajay only scoring 4 runs in a 35 run partnership. It was clear that DCC had to concentrate on one end and remove the support cast as Sandeep was looking rock solid.

Pratik and Hari bowled very miserly - still a wicket was eluding. Finally, Pratik bagged his 2nd wicket (for the 4th consecutive match) when he toyed with Ajay and disguised a delivery to get him out bowled. Hari and Pratik were now closing the door. Gaurang tried to hold the show but Hari's beauty was too much to defend. Jaspreet was also enamored by a similar ball from Hari to remove the last batsman. It stranded Sandeep as he was left searching for partners. He was the hightlight of GCT scoring 44 runs (and bagging 3 wickets) in a game where no other GCT player reached double figures and only 3 could do from DCC.

Mighty thanks to GCT for providing Domino's pizza.

Umpire Report
Fair umpiring from PACC, Kamran and Aqeel, ensured the game was an even contest by the 2 teams inspite of the teams applying a lot of pressure on them.
