Match Report
This was the first match in the new UICC ground. TACC won the toss and decided to bat on a new pitch that was expected to behave inconsistent. UICC opening bowlers were on target, but did not find much swing. The bounce was unpredicatable but things though seemed to go smoothly for TACC openers as the runs came in easy singles. The new UICC ground is pretty big and combined with grass on the thicker side, made boundary hitting a hard job (but this also gave the batsmen opportunity to run 4). At first break TACC were 45/3. A further 46 were added in the next 10 overs, but also resulted in 2 soft dismissals and a brilliant catch by Thomas to dismiss Rahul. The next two wickest added a further 40 runs to take the score to 130. Three quick wickets brought an unexpectedly quick end to the innings with no further runs added.

UICC started cautiously the chase of 131. Some good bowling by the TACC bowlers managed to keep the UICC opening bats quiet. Meanwhile a few dropped chances frustrated them. First down Kevin played a good hand to keep the innings steady, taking the score to 58/1 in 17 overs. Even at the second break, UICC were sitting pretty at 85/3. But, the fact that the pitch was really up and down by now, combined with the big ground meant the 46 needed in 11 overs was not going to be easy even with 7 wickets in hand. TACC struck 2nd over after break. A few tight low scoring overs also meant the required rate now climbed up. With UICC players now going for the shots, wickets fell in heap, finally ending up at 111 in 33 overs.
