Match Report TACC won toss and elected to field based on painful memories from last year playing CVCC. The opening bowlers were much improved with very low number of wides. But, they strayed on leg stump and were punished. The first break came in the form of a runout. Trying to steal a couple off of a leg glance, the non striker was found out at the far end by a direct throw from fine-leg by Fenil.
This however brought in Anup who was in devastating form, smashing TACC bowlers all over the park. A good spell from debutant Mayur Vichare kept the run rate to sane levels. Also two quick wickets meant that MBCC were 3 down at the break. Return from break provided quick results for TACC with two more wickets going down. But Anup kept going to make a quick 72. Anup's fall though brought quick curtains to the MBCC innings at 206 in 27.2 overs.
TACC started cautiously their chase of 207. First 12 overs was negotiated with loss of only one wicket, and at break they were 44/1. The TACC batsmen were in more aggressive mode after the break, but lost Pradeep in 19th over when score was at 81. This brought in Fenil who smashed the first ball he faced for a big six. Third wicket was lost at 125 in 23. TACC needed 70 off 66 balls with 7wkts in hand. Even though 2 quick wickets were lost, there was no panic, as Fenil now went to over aggressive mode, smashing sixes and 2 fours to finish the match off in a hurry.
Thanks to MBCC for Subway lunch. The match was played in a competitive but friendly atmosphere. Thanks to umps from CVCC. Umpire Report No umpire report required this season. |
