Report: It was very hot day out on reedy creek park where CLCC was Hoping to play without rain, Since all our games ended up with rain interruptions. The outfield was very nice and the pitch was perfect to play real cricket. CLCC's Captain Shashi went out on toss with HPCC Captain Ghais, were the two umpires from PACC Imaran and Bilal were present to toss. CLCC won the toss and elected to field, some people thought it was strange to bat second on a hot sunny day were the pitch was batsman paradise, But I guess the captain was thinking something else. CLCC started with a perfect plan to get some early wicket's and guess what, we got our first break in a very first over, Ashish bowled a perfect out swing to shami and he had to play that delivery and shashi took a nice diving low catch. The game was on, HPCC the champions were not afraid they calmed down and played wisely few overs and replied back in 4th over by scoring 14 runs. Abhi replied with taking a wicket in 6th over, We had a situation when Abhi bowled a delivery and thought it was simple caught and bold and the batsman did walked away towards pavilion but umpire said it was bump catch. it was a tough decision to make by umpires. But batsman thought he was out so when the umpire said not out the batsman Mark was already too far from his crease, Sanjay from CLCC was very active and very wisely ran to stumps and took the bells off and appealed for run out the umpire was quiet convinced to gave that one as a run out. HPCC were 3 for 57 in 9 over,PK strikes on his first and second over by giving CLCC two big wickets of Aaman and Mustaq.
At break time HPCC were 86/5 in 15 overs. After break PK strikes
again and gave us two quick wickets of HPCC captain Ghias and hafeez, Wow what a
spell from PK of CLCC 6-1-15-4. Hpcc 20 overs 99 for 7 and Akbar scores 50 not
out with some glorious sixes at the end put HPCC to a very strong position at
172 all out. CLCC had done there homework and were prepared to go with there
strong batting line up to chase 173 to win. We opened with Parimal and Shashi,
It was perfect start when we lost our captain in 6th overs when the score was
around 40 runs. Well it didn't stop there we lost Parimal after few more runs on
board. Sanjay and Kunal played wisely and took some nice singles were we lost
sanjay at 52/3 10 overs. Ashish the CLCC's Vice Captain joined Kunal in a very
tense situation. They played very well with some glorious strokes taking CLCC
towards victory. But HPCC won't give up just like that, they took Kunal and
Ashish out when CLCC was smelling victory. CLCC were 135/5 in 24th overs, Good
partnership by Ashish and Kunal. Well it was a pressure situation for CLCC, HPCC
bowling and fielding was tight. CLCC needs 38 in 6 overs. The battle was on,
very tight bowling by HPCC,But Chandu from CLCC With Abhi Took CLCC closer to
the victory with some nice batting. Well HPCC strikes back and took Abhi out,
Score was 154/6 in 27 over. The very tight 28th over bowled by Ghias by giving
only 4 runs put tons of pressure on CLCC, Now they needed 15 in 2 overs. Akbar
there main bowler came to bowl 29th over, Bharat Vijay was on strike, 12 balls
15 runs needed, Chandu at non striking end, Here comes Akbar of his very
important 29th over first ball, Zoom the ball went down the boundary, beautiful
stroke by Bharat Vijay.
Next ball single run brings Chandu on strike with 10 runs remaining 10 balls. What a nice diving catch by Zabbar(Sub) every body thought it was a boundary, next thing you see chandu is out. Well Well what a game 10 runs needed in 9 balls. New batsman Gopal joined Bharat, Since they had crossed before fielder took a catch puts Bharat on strike. 10 runs 9 balls, Bharat cannot take any more pressure and he decided to finish the game, guess what he did in next two balls by scoring superb six and a four gave CLCC a WIN by saving 7 balls. At the end TEAMWORK gave us a Win Against Champions. Captain Shashi had to thanks all his team mates for bringing a big WIN.
