PACC Avenges last year's Pre Q final defeat as they chased 232 against CCC to
seal the deal for "Final Four"
With great weather conditions and revenge in their mind for last year's
humiliating defeat, PACC arrived at Shiloh park. It looked like CCC was awaiting
them so they can repeat last year's performance. Coin flipped CCC's way and
without any hesitation Vijay elected to bat since Shiloh is well known for
"batting friendly". Teams were warned by CCC to "beware of Fabian" and PACC was
beware so they set their goal to get rid of him as soon as possible if they
wanted to get CCC out at lower score. Fabian tried to drive Shami over Jansher's
head not realizing his height and was caught tremendously by Jansher. It seemed
like PACC had their man but Arun and Yogi started to built up a partnership
which worked very well for CCC because they took the score to 100 in 12th over
but unlikely hero emerged for PACC in the bowling when Murtaza threw a very good
spell while claiming 3 wickets of Yogi, Arun and Pranav. Mansoor once again was
great in his bowling as he controlled the flow of runs but also claimed 1
wicket. Jani also did a good job and claimed 2 wickets. CCC set a difficult but
chase-able target of 232 for PACC.
PACC had to face a challenge of chasing 232 a very healthy total and often not
chased in regular season not to mention playoff and pace attack of CCC. Imran
khan and waseem went to open the innings for PACC while Arun and Vijay started
bowling for CCC. Wasim was run out on a drop catch and a "give up". Imran had
extra responsibility on his shoulders as he was joined by saqib. Both took Arun
and Vijay to ride with their shots. Saqib was caught out after playing a nice
inning of 28 while murtaza was given LBW at 20. PACC was 139 for 3 when Jansher
and Nasir took over the game and it was "Out of the frying pan in to the fire "
for CCC as PACC kept on with it's run rate and had wickets in hands. Jansher was
caught off of fabian and Mansoor joined the forces to finish it off. Nasir
blasted a sixer on the first ball of Vijay's over (28) to seal the victory for
PACC and their name registration for the "final four". PACC thanks CCC for a
very well played game and Umpires Robert ferguston. Nirinjan (DCC) for very good
umpiring specially under the shadows of Umpiring controversy last week. It will
be a rematch of Regular season game which PACC won by 9 runs and only loss for
GRCC. PACC would certainly want to repeat it again.
PACC also thanks Shami, Faisal, Mudassar, Manzoor, Azhar and Shah jee for
travelling and supporting PACC as they get one step closer to make it all they
way.
Man of the match: Jansher 46 runs, 2 wickets, 1 catch
